The Perfect Housewarming Gift Guide!

Friday, August 4, 2017

I'm at the age where friends have started to move out of the homes they grew up in, and be on their own. I can't relate just yet, but it's exciting to see loved ones start this new chapter in life, and putting their new homes together. I love interior design, and it's interesting to see how different personalities create their own living space - am I the only one?

One of my best friends just moved into a gorgeous apartment with her new boyfriend, and another is getting married next year and will be recreating a portion of her home. These two ladies inspired me to create this housewarming gift guide, because y'all know I love a good gift guide! Hope this gift guide is helpful for any of you attending a housewarming party soon, or want to get something special for a friend just because!

I recently discovered Tuft & Needle through Instagram, of course. You can't miss the big white T&N box in the photos. I was drawn to the mattress delivery method at first - how does that big of a thing fit in a box? I watched a fun video of an unboxing of a T&N mattress and it was pretty neat how it's compressed and rolled up at first, but able to inflate again after you cut the layer of plastic.

This post is not sponsored, but Tuft & Needle was more than generous to provide a complimentary mattress for reviewing purposes. I was excited to see the big white T&N box on my front porch and was excited to unbox the mattress that evening! I recommend asking for a helping hand when unboxing this mattress, especially if you're on the petite side (like me). When the mattress inflated to its original form, I was so ready to sleep and test it out. When sitting on the mattress, it's definitely on the softer side, but it's more firm when you're sleeping on it. I generally prefer sleeping on firmer beds because I've been having some serious lower back pain due to poor posture, so this was definitely a win for me. This is the first foam-based mattress I've slept on, and the experience has been pleasant so far - I'll be sleeping on this thing for years.

Tuft & Needle mattresses are on the affordable end, and I definitely recommend checking this brand out. What I love most is their 100-night sleep option! If it doesn't work for you, you can return it (and returns are donated to local charities). I'm stoked to check out their pillows next!
